Prof. Fotis C. Kafatos

Prof. Fotis C. Kafatos is the team leader for Work Package 7. He is based at Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine (Imperial) in London, UK. His expertise and research focus is that of mosquito innate immunity and its response to the malaria parasite, as well as the genetic characterisation of mosquito/parasite co-evolution and co-adaptation. He has a background encompassing the introduction of genomic and cell biological approaches to the study of malaria mosquito vectors.
