Work Package 2: Population & Evolutionary Biology of Transmission

Work Package 2 will examine the epidemiological, population, and evolutionary aspects of malaria transmission. It will develop mathematical models to guide transmission blocking interventions to increase their efficacy (within the aspect of epidemiology / population biology) and sustainability (within the aspect of the evolution). Importantly, it will explore how Plasmodium and its vectors might evolve in response to interventions striving to reduce the probability of mosquitoes becoming infected.
